I swear I’ll start writing more blog postsApril 27, 2015
I know, I know. I’ve broken the number one rule of owning and maintaining a blog: NEVER leave it unattended for too long. Now, after over a year hiatus, I solemnly swear to maintain and update this damn blog more often. I certainly have no shortage of things to write, as my work in the web field has only grown more interesting and challenging since my last post.
I decided to take a break from client work for awhile and assist the marketing department in expanding Mutual Mobiles efforts in email campaigns as well as with a large redesign of the company website. I also got to work with a really awesome tool called Otter that aggregates and visualizes app store reviews. I’ll blog soon about my experiencing taking the existing Otter app and transferring it to Mutual Mobiles own MVC framework called Lavaca. I worked a lot with email templating, which I learned is so much harder and tedious than I ever imagined it would be.
As my work in the marketing department became sparse, I jumped back into a client project that has been fun, challenging and eyeopening. While I’m not at freedom to discuss details about the client, I will be blogging soon about my experience using Angular for the first time in a large project. I also built a massive, multi-chart data visualization for the project using D3.js that was an absolute blast to work on. That’ll be on github soon.
For now, enjoy my new iteration of my website. I built it all in WordPress with a little help from a small MV scaffolding for all the nifty transitions and such.
